Villa Woodbine Wedding : Katherine & Ahmed

A late afternoon wedding in a secluded lush garden, under the most amazing tree and a chandelier, surrounded by all your family and friends sounds like the perfect wedding to me… But let’s just rewind a few years back in time for a second :) Katherine and Ahmed met the first day of dental school when she was sitting in class and suddenly received this note passed over to her. It was heart-shaped with a clip and when she looked over to see who passed it, there was he, smiling and waving. I mean, seriously guys, it doesn’t get much cuter and sweet than that. So fast forward to the end of dental school, during Spring break in their last semester, Ahmed took Katherine sky diving. He dove first and then Katherine did, when they landed, he was right beside her, he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. How romantic and exciting is that? and such adrenaline rush! Love it!

So the following months passed planning and designing their wedding in the hands of the most amazing wedding planner Marylen Exposito. Together they created a very romantic setting surrounded by a tropical garden in the heart of Coconut Grove at Villa Woodbine. Katherine says that she knew right away that Villa Woodbine was her “dream venue”, and it definitely was.! They chose a ton of different flowers, including cascading orchids, white roses and tulips with a palette in ivory, blush and champagne tones, in other words, absolute PERFECTION! And finally and most importantly, they really wanted to honor their two cultures by merging music, both Latin and Arabic, throughout the entire night. Also dancers and performers on stills entertained their guests during the dancing. It was a beautiful evening, totally glamorous and so much fun. Congratulations!

I totally enjoyed photographing Katherine and Ahmed’s wedding and I hope you guys love their pictures as much as I do ;-) Have an amazing day!

Besos, Lara

Beach House Chic : Kierstin & Fernando’s Engagement Session

I love stories, specially Love Stories, so when Kierstin told me what she had in mind for her engagement session I jumped right in. The storyline was simple, a girl planning her wedding with the love of her life, spending a romantic afternoon in a beach house, with candlelights, drinks, planning their future together… My kind of afternoon precisely – minus the wedding planning, I’ve got that out of the way long time ago. And the perfect setting for all of this was our beautiful backyard of Miami Beach, of course.  This is why I think I’m never going to leave this town. I couldn’t live without the eternal sunshine (and occasional thunderstorms) and everything beach, sand, ocean and beautiful and hip people. Kierstin and Fernando were amazing to work with, super nice and don’t they look gorgeous together? I can only imagine how much fun we are going to have creating more beautiful pictures next year at The Miami Beach Edition Hotel for Kierstin and Fernando’s wedding. These are my favorite one!

Matheson Hammock Park Engagement Session : Sophie & Anthony

Sometimes I feel like pinching myself because I can’t believe I get to do what I love and have so much fun while at it. Throughout the years as a wedding photographer I’ve worked really hard to define my style and make it look not only beautiful, consistent but also real. One of my most important goals as a wedding photographer is to make sure my pictures look natural, spontaneous, I want to capture the real essence of my couples and their love for each other. It’s not so much about posing them perfectly, it’s more about making them interact! That’s why I don’t care much about the “where”, it’s more about the “how”. The background can be anything, a park, a beach, a street, anywhere, my focus is more about interacting with them, making sure they have a great time and get the best out of them. So I couldn’t show a better example of this than with these two love birds. Sophie and Anthony are picture perfect, but for real. I think they arrived to their engagement session kind of like, alright let’s just get this over with and let’s just have a good time, lol. No better way to do it by the way. No over-thinking much, and the result, delightful! A bunch of super natural, super spontaneous and fun set of pictures. Needless to say, I was totally in love with her dress, as you’ll see there are details in every single angle :) I’m so happy and so grateful to have amazing people like these two in my life. I can’t wait for their wedding later this year at The Biltmore Hotel in Miami, it’s going to be spectacular! I hope you guys love your pictures as much as I do :)

Romantic Sailboat Engagement Session : Christina & Leo

The places and the experiences that my photography world takes me are so amazing. Today I’m sharing this oh-so-romantic engagement session sailing the peaceful waters of Coconut Grove Bay in Miami. I couldn’t have asked for more, a beautiful couple, a spectacular vintage sailboat in a fresh December afternoon, the lighting was spectacular and even the captain was the best! We had such a nice time creating these moments and I just LOVE the romantic and soft look we’ve got! Thank you Sissi Ceballo for making Christina look even more beautiful, I can’t wait to see you all on their wedding day!

Boca Beach Resort & Spa Wedding : Caitlin & Chris

I think you could define the words classy, timeless and elegance by looking at Caitlin and Christopher’s wedding photographs. It was the most perfectly flawless wedding I’ve ever covered. and it’s probably because it was planned by the amazingly talented Liz & Lex Events! Caitlin wore a stunning blush wedding gown and heels by Monique Lhuillier that I couldn’t get enough of. And I couldn’t have thought of a better backdrop for such a wedding than the Boca Raton Resort and Club in Boca Raton, Florida. The different tones of ivory for the flowers and the gold accents gave this romantic night the final perfect touch of elegance and glitz. Photographing this wedding was a delightful experience because not only everything was so beautiful and tastefully done but because working close to Caitlin and Christopher’s families was my absolute pleasure! I hope you enjoy looking at these as much as I enjoyed capturing them!

You can see more pictures of this wedding featured at Elizabeth Ann Designs! Thank you for the honor!

Anais & Omar’s Engagement

So this week is the turn of one of ours to tie the knot. And when I say “one of ours” I refer to my dear friend from this amazing wedding industry, make up artist extraordinaire, Anais Guerra! I’ve known Anais from the very beginning of my photography career and have crossed paths with her many times :) Now she’s the one sitting on the makeup chair and I am extremely happy, honored and excited to be documenting her wedding with soulmate and best friend, Omar Babun! I’ve seen them for a while the way you do it these days, through Facebook of course, and I had the feeling he was the one, haha, I don’t know why :) Let me tell you, I know about these things :-) Anais and Omar are one of the good ones ;-) After spending an afternoon of photos, laughs, hugs, walking, climbing, and even negotiating with spiders & other creatures, I know these two are perfect for each other! I’m sure this weekend is going to be a great celebration with a looot of people super happy to see them commit to each other.

I wish you both a lifetime of happiness and love (and many more kids) I can’t wait for Saturday! XOXO

With Love, Lara
