So last week was absolutely amazing but the highlight of it all was photographing my dear friend Angel Rodriguez (RodriStudio) and, his now husband, Andreas Tschermak the day of their wedding. Since the big celebration is not until a year or so from now (can’t wait) we decided to have fun in the sea and sail away for the most romantic and perfect afternoon. We had the BEST time, it was beautiful outside, fresh, soft lighting and completely peaceful. “Winter” in Miami is the absolute best, not a lot of snow lately :) and with a couple this gorgeous, well, my job is really easy. Here’s a few of my favorite shots, I hope you enjoy them too and have a fabulous week! XOXO
So I’m taking a little break in the middle of this crazy wedding season to share a little love! This is simply my favorite time of the year to shoot, and although we don’t really have the 4 seasons here in South Florida, there’s something different in the air, the light is softer and it feels more relaxed. So right now I’m out the door to go shoot again but I needed to post this beauty here before I go. I just had the absolutely best time photographing Nicole and Eddie’s engagement session yesterday. Everything was so perfect from the love they share to the the lighting, the colors and oh! of course, the full entourage that came to help us VIP Style, baby! ;-) it was SO MUCH FUN, I swear I had the best time! I hope you all enjoy this beautiful afternoon and a little sneak peek into these two love bird’s afternoon story! XoXo
This past Friday my husband and I had the honor of photographing Sophia and Anthony’s wedding at The Biltmore Hotel and all I can say is PERFECTION from beginning to end. I was actually just backing up their pictures, as I do right after each wedding, and I just couldn’t help myself, I ended up posting this “short” preview. Actually I’m so in love with this wedding, I normally only post weddings that, for the most part, take place during the day. I really love daytime weddings, but I have to admit, I also really like the look and feel of nigh time weddings. Since a lot of my brides ask me to show them pictures of night time weddings when they come to my studio I decided to share this post. Sophia and Anthony’s wedding is a great example of what a wedding that starts by the end of the afternoon (and it’s pretty much all at night) looks like. Yeah, yeah, I know, the fact that Sophia is a complete and absolute beauty from head to toe doesn’t hurt :) Anthony you looked really good too ;-)
So at this moment that I’m finishing writing this post, a day and a half after the actual wedding, I backed up all the pictures, I haven’t seen most of my husband’s pictures, and pretty much I just scanned through the reception ones but I haven’t really seen them yet in detail, those are the ones that make me laugh!!! So this post is kind of a long preview of what caught my attention really quick, I’m sure there are going to be so many more that are going to start showing up! Oh! And I have to say, usually I don’t post a lot of church pictures either but seriously, Church of the Epiphany is so beautiful and modern, so many angles and good lighting (for a church) and on top of that they are super nice and flexible!
I love that feeling of exhaustion the weekend after a wedding but at the same time that feeling of joy because we had such a really good time with everybody. We captured so many amazing moments! And by the way, the responsible for running this show so smoothly and with such great energy is no less than Eric Trelles of ET Events, it’s always a pleasure working with the best in this beautiful wedding industry. Of course Sophia’s makeup was impeccable thanks to my beautiful and longtime friend Maritza Valle owner of Makeup by Marz and her amazing and super fun team!
So I hope you guys really love Sophia and Anthony’s wedding as much as I did and enjoy your Sunday!
This Dania Beach engagement session was one for the records, the speedy records specifically… Kira and I had planned an entire afternoon of pictures, starting at a beautiful park in Aventura and then we would finish the session at the beach. The perfect outfits were chosen, props, cute fiancé, everything. But since the weather in Florida is absolutely unpredictable, we arrived at the park and there it was, a dark cloud that covered the entire city. As soon as we got out of our cars it started raining, lol… So we decided to smart out the rain and speed up to the beach before the clouds would. And so we did. We arrived and 35 minutes is all mother nature gave us, but with such stunning couple and perfect background, that’s all we needed.
I think we’ve got some super sweet pictures, and honestly, these two were so much fun, all we did was laugh and play around until we were kicked out by the rain. We literally ran as hard as we could because it went from cloudy to hurricane storm in a matter of a minute. We were soaking wet but happy :) All I can say is that I love my job so much because of meeting people like Kira and Carlton that make it so amazing! I can’t wait for their wedding next year at The Bilmore Hotel in Miami, and in the hands of Events by Zeiry‘s planning, I know it’s going to be EPIC!
I hope you guys love them, I think they’re gorgeous!
Ok so this last picture I had to share because it’s a little behind the scenes of how the entire session was, I swear we were cracking up the whole time… Kira you’re too funny! Thanks for making it sooo fun!
A late afternoon wedding in a secluded lush garden, under the most amazing tree and a chandelier, surrounded by all your family and friends sounds like the perfect wedding to me… But let’s just rewind a few years back in time for a second :) Katherine and Ahmed met the first day of dental school when she was sitting in class and suddenly received this note passed over to her. It was heart-shaped with a clip and when she looked over to see who passed it, there was he, smiling and waving. I mean, seriously guys, it doesn’t get much cuter and sweet than that. So fast forward to the end of dental school, during Spring break in their last semester, Ahmed took Katherine sky diving. He dove first and then Katherine did, when they landed, he was right beside her, he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. How romantic and exciting is that? and such adrenaline rush! Love it!
So the following months passed planning and designing their wedding in the hands of the most amazing wedding planner Marylen Exposito. Together they created a very romantic setting surrounded by a tropical garden in the heart of Coconut Grove at Villa Woodbine. Katherine says that she knew right away that Villa Woodbine was her “dream venue”, and it definitely was.! They chose a ton of different flowers, including cascading orchids, white roses and tulips with a palette in ivory, blush and champagne tones, in other words, absolute PERFECTION! And finally and most importantly, they really wanted to honor their two cultures by merging music, both Latin and Arabic, throughout the entire night. Also dancers and performers on stills entertained their guests during the dancing. It was a beautiful evening, totally glamorous and so much fun. Congratulations!
I totally enjoyed photographing Katherine and Ahmed’s wedding and I hope you guys love their pictures as much as I do ;-) Have an amazing day!
I love stories, specially Love Stories, so when Kierstin told me what she had in mind for her engagement session I jumped right in. The storyline was simple, a girl planning her wedding with the love of her life, spending a romantic afternoon in a beach house, with candlelights, drinks, planning their future together… My kind of afternoon precisely – minus the wedding planning, I’ve got that out of the way long time ago. And the perfect setting for all of this was our beautiful backyard of Miami Beach, of course. This is why I think I’m never going to leave this town. I couldn’t live without the eternal sunshine (and occasional thunderstorms) and everything beach, sand, ocean and beautiful and hip people. Kierstin and Fernando were amazing to work with, super nice and don’t they look gorgeous together? I can only imagine how much fun we are going to have creating more beautiful pictures next year at The Miami Beach Edition Hotel for Kierstin and Fernando’s wedding. These are my favorite one!
Sometimes I feel like pinching myself because I can’t believe I get to do what I love and have so much fun while at it. Throughout the years as a wedding photographer I’ve worked really hard to define my style and make it look not only beautiful, consistent but also real. One of my most important goals as a wedding photographer is to make sure my pictures look natural, spontaneous, I want to capture the real essence of my couples and their love for each other. It’s not so much about posing them perfectly, it’s more about making them interact! That’s why I don’t care much about the “where”, it’s more about the “how”. The background can be anything, a park, a beach, a street, anywhere, my focus is more about interacting with them, making sure they have a great time and get the best out of them. So I couldn’t show a better example of this than with these two love birds. Sophie and Anthony are picture perfect, but for real. I think they arrived to their engagement session kind of like, alright let’s just get this over with and let’s just have a good time, lol. No better way to do it by the way. No over-thinking much, and the result, delightful! A bunch of super natural, super spontaneous and fun set of pictures. Needless to say, I was totally in love with her dress, as you’ll see there are details in every single angle :) I’m so happy and so grateful to have amazing people like these two in my life. I can’t wait for their wedding later this year at The Biltmore Hotel in Miami, it’s going to be spectacular! I hope you guys love your pictures as much as I do :)
