My Home Studio Reveal…

I’m super excited to FINALLY share my newly (well like 6 months newly) remodeled wedding photography home studio. This is the place that I use to receive my clients and where I work every day. When I started the design process I didn’t really have in mind to change the entire room. I first started by doing a little DIY project by spray painting an IKEA book shelf from white to gold. Placing that shelf in the room was like opening the remodeling Pandora’s box. In a matter of 2 or 3 months the entire studio was completely re-designed and re-furnished. Go big or go home I guess, lol. I shopped for everything online (Stores and links listed below) and it has been the most fun and exciting project I have ever worked on. EVER!!! Starting my day in this space is so inspiring and I thought you guys would like it ;-)

With Love, Lara

Serene Sailboat Engagement Session : Angel & Andreas

So last week was absolutely amazing but the highlight of it all was photographing my dear friend Angel Rodriguez (RodriStudio) and, his now husband, Andreas Tschermak the day of their wedding. Since the big celebration is not until a year or so from now (can’t wait) we decided to have fun in the sea and sail away for the most romantic and perfect afternoon. We had the BEST time, it was beautiful outside, fresh, soft lighting and completely peaceful. “Winter” in Miami is the absolute best, not a lot of snow lately :) and with a couple this gorgeous, well, my job is really easy. Here’s a few of my favorite shots, I hope you enjoy them too and have a fabulous week! XOXO

Nightime Wedding at The Biltmore Hotel : Sophia & Anthony

This past Friday my husband and I had the honor of photographing Sophia and Anthony’s wedding at The Biltmore Hotel and all I can say is PERFECTION from beginning to end. I was actually just backing up their pictures, as I do right after each wedding, and I just couldn’t help myself, I ended up posting this “short” preview. Actually I’m so in love with this wedding, I normally only post weddings that, for the most part, take place during the day. I really love daytime weddings, but I have to admit, I also really like the look and feel of nigh time weddings. Since a lot of my brides ask me to show them pictures of night time weddings when they come to my studio I decided to share this post. Sophia and Anthony’s wedding is a great example of what a wedding that starts by the end of the afternoon (and it’s pretty much all at night) looks like. Yeah, yeah, I know, the fact that Sophia is a complete and absolute beauty from head to toe doesn’t hurt :) Anthony you looked really good too ;-)

So at this moment that I’m finishing writing this post, a day and a half after the actual wedding, I backed up all the pictures, I haven’t seen most of my husband’s pictures, and pretty much I just scanned through the reception ones but I haven’t really seen them yet in detail, those are the ones that make me laugh!!! So this post is kind of a long preview of what caught my attention really quick, I’m sure there are going to be so many more that are going to start showing up! Oh! And I have to say, usually I don’t post a lot of church pictures either but seriously, Church of the Epiphany is so beautiful and modern, so many angles and good lighting (for a church) and on top of that they are super nice and flexible!

I love that feeling of exhaustion the weekend after a wedding but at the same time that feeling of joy because we had such a really good time with everybody. We captured so many amazing moments! And by the way, the responsible for running this show so smoothly and with such great energy is no less than Eric Trelles of ET Events, it’s always a pleasure working with the best in this beautiful wedding industry. Of course Sophia’s makeup was impeccable thanks to my beautiful and longtime friend Maritza Valle owner of Makeup by Marz and her amazing and super fun team!

So I hope you guys really love Sophia and Anthony’s wedding as much as I did and enjoy your Sunday!

With Love, Lara

Villa Woodbine Wedding : Katherine & Ahmed

A late afternoon wedding in a secluded lush garden, under the most amazing tree and a chandelier, surrounded by all your family and friends sounds like the perfect wedding to me… But let’s just rewind a few years back in time for a second :) Katherine and Ahmed met the first day of dental school when she was sitting in class and suddenly received this note passed over to her. It was heart-shaped with a clip and when she looked over to see who passed it, there was he, smiling and waving. I mean, seriously guys, it doesn’t get much cuter and sweet than that. So fast forward to the end of dental school, during Spring break in their last semester, Ahmed took Katherine sky diving. He dove first and then Katherine did, when they landed, he was right beside her, he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. How romantic and exciting is that? and such adrenaline rush! Love it!

So the following months passed planning and designing their wedding in the hands of the most amazing wedding planner Marylen Exposito. Together they created a very romantic setting surrounded by a tropical garden in the heart of Coconut Grove at Villa Woodbine. Katherine says that she knew right away that Villa Woodbine was her “dream venue”, and it definitely was.! They chose a ton of different flowers, including cascading orchids, white roses and tulips with a palette in ivory, blush and champagne tones, in other words, absolute PERFECTION! And finally and most importantly, they really wanted to honor their two cultures by merging music, both Latin and Arabic, throughout the entire night. Also dancers and performers on stills entertained their guests during the dancing. It was a beautiful evening, totally glamorous and so much fun. Congratulations!

I totally enjoyed photographing Katherine and Ahmed’s wedding and I hope you guys love their pictures as much as I do ;-) Have an amazing day!

Besos, Lara

Boca Beach Resort & Spa Wedding : Caitlin & Chris

I think you could define the words classy, timeless and elegance by looking at Caitlin and Christopher’s wedding photographs. It was the most perfectly flawless wedding I’ve ever covered. and it’s probably because it was planned by the amazingly talented Liz & Lex Events! Caitlin wore a stunning blush wedding gown and heels by Monique Lhuillier that I couldn’t get enough of. And I couldn’t have thought of a better backdrop for such a wedding than the Boca Raton Resort and Club in Boca Raton, Florida. The different tones of ivory for the flowers and the gold accents gave this romantic night the final perfect touch of elegance and glitz. Photographing this wedding was a delightful experience because not only everything was so beautiful and tastefully done but because working close to Caitlin and Christopher’s families was my absolute pleasure! I hope you enjoy looking at these as much as I enjoyed capturing them!

You can see more pictures of this wedding featured at Elizabeth Ann Designs! Thank you for the honor!

With Love, Lara

Bonnet House Museum Wedding : Meredith & Richard

Today’s blog is super special because this family is very dear to my heart. Bruce, the father of the bride, was my son’s tutor and he made such a positive impact on my son’s life and academics that I will always be grateful. And of course, when I met his beautiful daughter, Meredith, I knew we were going to click right away! Working with these two families was really awesome and what can I say, when your bride and groom look this good it’s really impossible creating bad pictures. We had a really great time and everything was flawless!

Meredith and Richard’s wedding day took place in two different locations. First, the ceremony was at the Bonnet House Museum & Gardens in Fort Lauderdale Beach. Now, if you’re looking for a true Florida style venue this is the place to go. The colors, the vegetation, the flowers, the artwork all over, the lighting, everything in this place screams tropical destination wedding, it’s simply beautiful and very Fort Lauderdale. Then, to keep their guests entertained, the reception was at Pier Sixty-Six, a circular restaurant on top of the building, with panoramic views, and it rotates 360 degrees to show the beautiful marinas, the inter-coastal and skyline of Fort Lauderdale. It’s really spectacular! Please enjoy this little wedding story.

With Love, Lara
