As most of you already know, I’m a major slacker when it comes to keep this blog up to date in the middle of wedding season. But this engagement session in Palm Beach I had to share. When Carolina told me we would be taking her engagement pictures around Tiffany, Gucci and Chanel I said count me in. We spent an afternoon of clicks and quick window shopping and since these two are so totally into each other my job was a breeze. Of course when it came to select the images for this post I took the entire afternoon, not an easy task. I can even imagine how gorgeous Carolina and Stephen are going to look on their wedding day this September. Have fun and enjoy!
Kristine and JJ’s wedding was truly amazing. First of all, she had two Monique Lhuillier wedding gowns, not one, TWO! There was a mix of sweet & sexy with a touch of chic! And although this blog post was supossed to be a little preview, it ended up a little bit longer than expected. I still haven’t seen all of the pictures but while I finish, here’s a little taste for the bride and groom whom I know are super excited to see them. I hope you love them too!!!
I don’t even know where to start writing this post today. I first met Cory at Orange Theory Fitness a while back, he was one of my instructors and I hated him so bad, LOL (Seriously Cory but you know I love you now, hahaha) Anyway, his tough love made me get in the best shape of my life and after a while I kind of started liking him a little bit more… Ok fine A LOT more, except for running with incline days, those days I still don’t like him at all! Then I met Lisa, Cory’s LOVE and better half, who is that kind of person that you instantly like no matter what… They’re truly a perfect match! Well, fast forward to this past December when I wanted to give them a special “Thank You” photo shoot gift for helping me achieve my fitness goals, and so we started planning what became one of the most fun projects I’ve done lately. It was one of those dreams that you start building from scratch, all of the pieces start falling into place and all the right people show up to make it happen. Out of all the many incredibly wonderful things that happened while planning this photo shoot, it was to learn that Lisa and Cory are actually expecting a baby this coming August, a miracle baby that against all medical odds decided to make his appearance on this world! I am BEYOND happy and excited for them and can’t wait to start taking pictures of that baby-belly soon! I hope you all enjoy this ride to Boho Road Trip and wish the couple many more blessings in their lifetime together.
With Love, Lara
THANKS TO THIS INCREDIBLE TEAM THAT BROUGHT THIS IDEA TO LIFE:
I’m super excited to share this wedding on the blog today. About three months ago I had the incredible honor of photographing the wedding of Nikki Stecich and Jon Jay, a St. Louis Cardinals player! It was one of the most fun weddings I’ve ever done and working with Nikki and Jon has been awesome!
The wedding was going to be late in the afternoon so one of the things we decided in advanced is that they were going to have a portrait session a few days or weeks after the wedding, so they could dress up again as on their wedding day and take pictures. They selected one of my favorite places in Miami, the Fairchild Tropical Botanic Gardens where we spent a couple of hours on a very cold afternoon on early January. We had a great time and it was the best way to capture those beautiful portraits with natural lighting and outdoors without all the stress of a wedding day.
From the moment I met Natalie (via Skype) and her adorable mom I knew we were going to be the perfect match! Yeah yeah, Charlie might be her better half but Natalie and I just clicked INSTANTLY, like a Polaroid picture ;-) I’m going to assume that anybody that meets her clicks too, I mean, she’s the kind of girl that’s always smiling, super light and so full of life. No wonder Charlie fell crazy in love with her, seriously, he couldn’t stop looking at her all day long, it was awesome.
I really knew from their engagement session that photographing these two love birds was going to be a breeze, and well, Natalie loooooves the camera, yeah she’s one of those, so my job was extremely easy; You could tell she’s been ready for this day all of her life! The day of the wedding was perfect, you know those days that nothing goes wrong, and with wedding coordination in the hands of (Natalie’s mom) Alore Event Firm everything went without a hitch! And of course Natalie is naturally beautiful but what bride is not happy while being prepared by my gorgeous friend Maritza of Makeup by Marz, the perfect team!
Charlie you’re super handsome too (let’s throw something to the groom, LOL :) but you’re really the luckiest man ever, please take care of our girl and I hope to see you guys back in Miami very soon! With Much Love and Appreciation ALWAYS!
If I was asked to define “The Golden Hour” with pictures, this would be it, WOW! Leslie, Mike and I decided to do their engagement session at South Pointe Park in South Beach, a mix of green from the park and blue from the ocean and the sky, and while the sun was absolutely amazing that day, it was also the windiest day of the year. Somehow Leslie’s hair went from perfectly straight to wild in a matter of two seconds, ha! Well, it worked out perfectly fine in my opinion, she looked STUNNING, with that free spirit feel! Mike had no problems with his hair though ;-) So, you see? This is my job, spending time with amazingly fun and beautiful people while taking their pictures at magical locations… Not bad at all!
Happy Holidays to you all and I promise to start blogging again more frequently this year. It’s my number one New Year’s resolution, but unlike all my diets in the past, this one I’m keeping ;-)
Today I’m posting one of my favorite weddings lately… It was fun from beginning to end and Adriana and Danny were simply AMAZING to work with. They were getting ready for the wedding at the Biltmore hotel, and because of time constrains we decided to have a first look right there! We took all their portraits and family formals at the Biltmore and then we headed to Thalatta Estate, the venue were the wedding ceremony and reception was going to take place. For those of you that follow my blog, you know that outdoor weddings at the end of the afternoon are my cup of tea and with such a gorgeous couple and beautiful details, this was a dream come true for me!!! Lots of eye candy and romance here so enjoy!!!
